Walk for Wildlife 2010
On Sunday, May 30th, 2010 I went Walking for Wildlife to raise money to help the animals hurt by the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. I went to the Ipswich River Wildlife Sanctuary with my parents and baby brother. It is the largest Audubon Sanctuary in Massachusetts. I donated some of my saved allowance to the sanctuary. It was a sunny day and the weather was beautiful. I was wearing a T-shirt that I made with all of my sponsors’ names on it. I drew a pelican on the front. During my walk, I saw lots of birds and other animals, even our state bird the Black-capped Chickadee! I tried to walk as far as I could to help the animals. By the end of the day I had walked a total of 9 miles and raised $1,462 for the National Wildlife Federation! Thanks again to all who sponsored me and helped raise money for the animals in the Gulf.
